The Job Search |
Miami offers many services for students as they approach the end of their program. Below are a few ideas to get you going. |
JOB POSTINGSWe are not often alerted when positions fill, so inquire first to the school/district/company if a position is still open if the posting is dated. Often, positions are posted on our alumni facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/muartedalumni/
Consider liking the Miami University Art Education Alumni page. Job openings are sometimes posted there by alumni.
Resources/examplesCareer Services offers programs and workshops based on resume writing, interviewing and networking. Career Services has put together a good list of mock interview questions for Education Majors. Career Services also offers a yearly Teacher Job Fair. Training in interviewing is required prior to participating in this event (see programs/workshops schedule at above link). The Handshake site is their program for registering for offered services.
Thinking about Graduate School? Check out what Miami has to offer in terms of preparation resources. NAEA (National Art Educators Association) has a job search site. Their listings extend beyond K-12 schools into museums, etc. JOB SEARCH ENGINES:
